How it works

  1. A former Uber New York GM and not a developer, he first had ChatGPT write code piece by piece; the first version took a day, and the app launched in July 2023
  2. He moved to Windsurf and Cursor so AI could edit the codebase directly, and from early 2026 used Claude Code almost exclusively, on Opus and the $200/month plan
  3. The app records in-person meetings and phone calls, then transcribes and summarizes them; weekly, monthly and annual plans, with annual bringing most revenue
  4. Early growth came from Meta ads plus constant paywall A/B tests, taking revenue from about $1M to about $6M in four months; today it runs on Apple Search Ads and Google Ads
  5. He handles engineering and support himself; Claude Code also writes help articles from the code, reads server logs and analyzes data

Could we copy it?

Partly copyable A recording and transcription app is not hard to build, and a competitor copied the features and pricing. The hard part is paid acquisition and paywall tuning: constant A/B tests and ad spend, with roughly one in ten installs paying, by his account.
