CHSI

The official app for checking and verifying Chinese student records and degrees

First principle

Going on to study or work means proving your degree is real. CHSI is the only site the Ministry of Education designates for checking degree certificates, so this can only be done here.

The needs it meets

ErrandsCore
Things that must be done, taxes, ID, bills: the quicker the better.

Why it wins

  1. Schools and employers rely on it: online verification reports for enrolment, certificates and degrees come from here, and students can look up their own records after logging in.
  2. For the 2027 postgraduate entrance exam the application photo has to be taken in the CHSI app, so early registration from October 9 and registration from the 15th to the 24th brought in a wave of candidates at once.
  3. Many employers ask for a CHSI report on a degree or enrolment, and autumn hiring runs through these same months.
  4. It rates above 4.5 stars, far higher than the other must do apps: it does a few things and does them reliably.

What keeps it ahead

Mandated
The only way to do this thing.

How it makes money

Free

No in app purchases: it is a public service run by a unit of the Ministry of Education, and students check their own records for free.

What a small team can take from it

CHSI reached the top ten in October because exam photos must be taken in its app. The official side only verifies; preparing, choosing schools and the hassle before registering are left to others, which is where a small team fits, and the same demand returns at the same time every year.
